Holly and Becca had sorted the formation for today, it was a simple 4, 2,3,1 line up! we had waited a while for the opposition who arrived with Miss Went, who used to teach at Neatherd! The game started well for Neatherd, at times we were passing the ball, and also sometimes we met the ball first. Dinalva did well to save a couple of shots, the back four of Zoe, Marika, Amy and Sophie were looking sharp. Lisa gave us some much needed control in midfield and won lots of challenges, and also passed the ball really well.
Unfotunately we went 1-0 down, there star player did well to score past Dinalva. Neatherd equalised when Lisa won the ball, passed through for Holly to run on to, she did run on and then finished cooly tgo in at half time all level.
The second half was also close, both Neatherd and CNS had good efforts on goal. Lisa had a shot just wide, Jules has a couple of shots and Holly also has a shot. Holly and Laura had great crosses, that we didn't get on the end of and and Jules put in some great corners that we couldn't seem to score from.
Beeca was doing well down the left wing, and our three in midfield worked well. Unfortunately CNS scored another goal, and despite lots of pressure we could not score. The closest we came was a cracking shot from Laura, that crashed into the bar, and rebounded down, but not over the line!
A much improved showing today, well down to all the girls. Next official games are after Feb half term. Training on Wednesdays after half term.
