After taking far too long selecting the desired shirts, the girls set off on the walk to Northgate. We arrived in good time, and joined two teams from Northgate and two more teams from Hellesdon. Each team played every other, in matches that lasted 6 minutes on the new astro-turf pitches.
Neatherd A (All Year 9 Girls)
Game One
First game was against Neatherd B! With goals from Juliette (2) and Charlotte, a 3-1 win was the result. A good start from the Year 9's.
Game Two
Next game was against Northgate B. Two more goals from Juliette and one from Laura gave us a 3-0 win. Zoe did well to keep a clean sheet, helped by Sian and Chelsie in defence.
Game Three
Next up was Hellesdon A. A fantastic long range shot from Jules gave us a 1-0 win. Charlotte was again playing well, linking up well with Laura and Juliette in attack.
Game Four
Northgate A were the next opposition, agian 1-0 to Neatherd was the final score. Juliette scored the only goal. Zoe again did not let in any goals.
Game Five
Hellesdon B were the final game in the tournament, Laura scored the vital goal to ensure that the team won all five games, thus ensuring tournament Champions!
Neatherd B (6 Year 7's and Hannah from Year 8)
Game One
Against the Neatherd Year 9's. A 3-1 loss was a dissappointment, but the goal that Hannah scored was the only one that the Year 9's conceeded in the entire tournament! The team had more shots on goal, and good passing, but were not able to score the required goals.
Game Two
Northgate A were next up, and the Year 7's did really well to win 1-0. Hannah again scored the goal, and their was some brilliant defending form Leah and Sophie.
Game Three
A 1-0 loss to Hellesdon B was the next result. This was despite some good passing from Danni, Rachel and Lucy. Again neat football, but no goals.
Game Four
Rianna scored in this game to give the team another 1-0 win. The goalkeepers Lucy, Rachel and Rianna were all doing really well, and between them only let one goal in against the four teams from Northgate and Hellesdon! A great achievement against the older girls.
Game Five
Final Match against Hellesdon A, and another 1-0 win. Another goal from Rianna sealed the result.
