After a lot of re-arranging by Mrs Daglish, she kindly drove the mini-bus to Reepham and back so that the game could still go ahead...thanks to her.
We took a massive squad of 15 to Reepham, meaning we had lots of fresh legs to come on during the game. The 1st half started well for Neatherd. We were camped in the Reepham half, passing the ball well, but in infront of the Reepham defence. They were defending very deep in large numbers, and we couldn't get through!
We still had shots, lots of them but they were either saved, blocked or went wide! Rianna had many shots and Laura managed to 'Knee' over from 3 yards out! Just before half time, Ashleigh crossed the ball in and an one of the Reepham defenders put into her own net! Half time 1-0.
In the second half we peppered their goal with more shots. The pitch-side notes read 'Rachel shoots at goal', 'Rianna shoots at goal', 'Danni shoots at goal', 'Sophie shoots at goal', 'Rianna shoots at goal', 'Ashleigh shoots at goal', etc, etc, etc.
In the second half it wasn't all one way traffic, Leah did really well to catch their striker and stop her shooting, and when they did get through Charlotte made a great save in goal. Sophie was excellent in the Makelele role winning lots of the ball. We are still looking strong at the back, along with Sophie and Leah, Paige and Lisa do really well at full back. It looks a solid defence!
Rianna then scored a great goal, pushing the ball to the side of the defender, and thrashing the ball into the near top corner. The game finished 2-0. A good result despite the scrappy game.
We have won 2 and drawn 1 on this league and look good to win it and progress to the next stage against other league winners.
Thanks again to Mrs Daglish for stepping in and driving, and well done to all the girls for a good win.
